“I don’t see Elena. Despite her grief, she should attend the breakfast with all of us. We all need to show unity in these moments.”
To her surprise, the King's response was casual as he took a sip from his coffee. "Elena won't be joining us anytime soon," he remarked, his tone oddly nonchalant.
"Why not?" the Queen pressed, her voice showing confusion.
King Richard set down his cup with a sigh, his gaze distant. "I've sent Elena away from the palace," he explained softly. "She needs time for herself, to mourn her mate without the pressure of obligations. The poor girl deserves this break."
