I look at the screen blankly and grab my ringing and irritating phone.
“What Clayton?” I snap.
“That’s no way to talk to your father.”
“Our relationship was dead long time ago. What do you want? I have better things to do.”
“Have you seen the breaking news?”
“Yes. I'm actually looking at the screen as we talk.”
“I'm scared. Your brother is in that prison and my calls go unanswered.”
“Then go down there and stop calling me!”
“He is your brother Chuck.”
“I don’t f*****g care. That ass r***d my woman.”
“I told you family comes first. She is no longer your woman. Reynolds was clear when he told you to stay away from her.”
“And that’s what I don’t intend to do. Waiting for her to remember me and I will have her back. I’m not giving up on her. I lost her once. Not anymore.”
