“Evelyn told you that?” I widen my eyes at her and look at Danny, screaming 'help me' but no words come out. She understands though and gives me a blank expression.
“Yes. You and Ed have always looked good together. I'm happy to have such a son-in-law.”
“Oh!” I give Danny a blank expression. “You have been away for long. You don’t even know Ed and I broke up.”
“Broke up? He can’t leave you after knocking you up.”
“He didn’t do that. I’m not pregnant. At least not for Ed.”
“What do you mean by that?”
“That Ed and I broke up. We are not expecting a baby.”
