*Sequel of Tethered*

Secrets can't stay hidden

Vengeance doesn't fade

Especially if it is centuries older.

But love shall not betray

Even if it was the only hope.

As they say, all is fair in love and war. And this was both, love and war which had sucked me into it to make it more. Now, I had to see which would win, my love or his thirst and hate.

Prologue
My head was slammed to the ground as a big hand held it there. The tile had broken beneath the side of my face as I groaned a bit letting the pain get to me. My vision slightly turned blur but just for few seconds, and I was again able to see the surroundings with ultra clarity.   "Where is he?" The monster hissed in my ear, tightening his grip threateningly to crush my skull.   "I. Don't. Know," I hissed back, my fangs elongated on their own. I was sure that my eyes were burning blue with rage.   I was roughly pulled back by my hair and lifted off the ground just to come face to face with lavender eyes, "don't give me that sweetheart, I know that you can feel him. After all, he's your beloved."   His accent soaking his smooth voice. The cool skin tone of his glistened in the light from the bulb and his light hair pulled back in a small ponytail.   "Valens, drop the vampling," Valens immediately obeyed throwing me on the floor as the velvety soft voice laughed but nothing about it was funny or mesmerizing. In fact, for the first time I felt the goosebumps on my new body.  He slowly got up as if he'd got all the time in the world as I stayed in my place and watched his movements like a hawk. His eyes had held me hostage in my place which were very different from any color I had seen, more darker than Valens. Some type of deeper shade of purple, like aubergine, yeah aubergine colored eyes.   He came to kneel down to my level as a cold smirk. His fangs peeping out of his mouth.   "She is here, so he will come. Her lover has to come. And till that she will entertain us, right dragă?" He patted my cheek as his grin was sinister, madness swirled in his eyes. A madness that looked feral. I felt a chill go down my spine. It was clear that they weren't somebody to be messed with.  I averted my eyes only to end up looking into the glassy eyes of the dead female singer. Half of her neck torn off. The entire restaurant was filled with dead. But what hurt me most was looking at the lifeless body of my soul-sister, my best friend... Diana, lying among them. Her dark plush skin looked hard, her bouncy hair looked dull. Her full lips parted telling that they weren't going to move again, ever. And it was all my fault. My heart ached at the sight and I so badly wanted to cry but tears wouldn't come out.   Bittersweet memories flooded my mind as every single second I spent with her flashed before my eyes like I just experienced them. Even the last seconds of her life where I stood like a useless bystander and watched her life being drenched out of her. She had so many dreams, so many desires and ambitions that she wanted to fulfill. The goals she wanted to achieve, the life she wanted to live but now... Now those dreams will remain only dreams... Because she was gone, her soul was gone, lost to the night.  They bloody took it out of her! And I felt the need to take a pledge to avenge her.   "Where are you looking?" he questioned casually like we were in a restaurant. Wait, we were in a restaurant, the only catch was that it was filled with dead bodies. He followed my gaze to land on Diana as he gave a short laugh as if it was funny, "my, my. Wasn't she with you earlier? Well, she was a delicious meal. Worth being born."  My hands curled up into fists as anger seeped into me. My senses intensified and my fangs extended further more, prepared to tear off their bodies.   "Oh, looks like the vampling is angry," Valens commented sarcastically.   I growled loudly before pouncing towards him, ready to attack but his eyes flashed white as he grabbed me by my neck and thrashed me down. My oxygen supply was cut, not that I needed it but I rendered me vulnerable. He could separate my head from my body and wouldn't be able to do anything.   I just hissed at him, not wanting to show him how scared I was.   His white eyes regarded me coolly, "stay down vampling, I don't want to break those pretty hands or legs to keep you in your place. But if you like to only live on your torso, I would be glad to oblige."
