Chapter 72

745 Words
Lying side by side, he simply caresses my slightly bulging abdomen before saying seriously, “I always want to make love to you always, but I'm afraid that I might hurt you both. I don't want to hurt you.” Hearing him say, I turned to his side so I could look at him clearly. Slowly, I reached his face and caressed it with my small palms to hold him still. Feeling the subtle warmth of his face and the tickling sensation of his now growing beard, I smiled inwardly. “I know, and we’ve done the magic a lot of times, so I can fully understand you...” I said as I smiled at him. “... and I must thank you for that,” he added to my words. I smiled at him and hugged him tightly. I just hope he can feel my love without my needing to say it to him. We stayed at this for a long time, feeling each other’s warmth, until his phone vibrated. Interrupting us. I move myself a little to give him space so he could reach out for his phone, but he never moved a bit. Instead, he held me still by my waist. He just simply glanced at it. After reading who the caller was, his once warm demeanor quickly changed. I can even see his jaw muscles tighten, but in the blink of an eye, those unpleasant views all vanish away. Just then, he tried to avoid my gaze. The phone went off, then, later on, it started buzzing again. This made me think that something must have happened to his company or the bar. But, judging by his reaction, I can perfectly tell that it was the other way. Or it was way more, something very important, but neither of his work involvement. “Why don't you take it? It seemed very important.” I said to him in a very polite way, even though it made me curious and uncomfortable. “Let it be, it will just stop soon,” he said nonchalantly. The phone kept on buzzing, it stopped and started to buzz again. So, I took the initiative to move away so he could answer. “Where are you going?” he asked curiously. “I will go out first, you're maybe uncomfortable answering your phone with me around,” I said as I stood up quickly before he could react. “I will be in the kitchen,” I called out before I closed the door behind me. Upon doing so, I leaned on the closed door a couple of times and shut my eyes close. Inhaling and exhaling deeply and silently as I tried to calm the growing anxious feeling. I stayed a little without the intention of eavesdropping, just stayed that way as I am so exhausted now. I know I may sound paranoid, but something is telling me that something is not right about it. That gave me these unsettling feelings. Something is telling me that I can't just sit and let it alone. But how? How will I know? I asked myself depressingly. “Miss Ale?” Nurse Tilly called out worriedly the moment she saw me leaning on the door with my eyes shut vividly. Hearing her, I simply nodded without bothering to open my eyes, only to let her know that I recognized her call. It took me a few seconds before I finally opened my eyes to meet her questioning look a few feet away from me. Just then, when she saw me looking at her, she quickly ran to my side and carefully 'assisted' me. hmmp... as if I didn't know that she was just putting on an act. I smirked inwardly at her but still allowed her to do as she pleased. It'll be no good if I shake her off. “I'm okay, don't worry,” I said, reassuring her, but still, allowing her to guide me downstairs and ' act' like the way she does by applying some pressure to her. Just then, when I thought that she was genuinely worried about me, but later on I caught her grinning at me indifferently. Huh!! What a way to show her concern to her employer. I thought, rolling my eyes secretly. I was about to ask her, but later on, decided to let it go. What’s the point? She would only deny it. Shaking off the idea.
