Chapter 68

Seeing the photo, my heart started to thud violently.

I wanted to ask her, but no words wanted to escape from me.

My thoughts were dead shut it enabled me to think.

I sit back again in awe.

“Should I ask her? Or should I wait for her to speak up?” I thought warily.

After calming myself, I decide not to push through with what I just saw now.

‘Maybe she has her own reason just like I have mine too.’ I reasoned out.

As I saw her finally straighten, I masked myself with a warm smile. Hiding my suspicions.

“So, are you done?”

“Yeah, I guess I am. Everything I need is already there,” she said pointing to the language set on the side.

I nod at her and stood up too before I reach out the photo and hand it to her.

“Don’t forget this one. It will help you in the future.” I said, still beaming a smile at her. acting like I was not affected by it.

Looking at what I got, I saw the surprise expression in her eyes but…

‘Wait, did I glimpse some worries in it? Or it was just my imagination?

She reaches out for it without saying a word.

I look at her intently in the hope to see more reactions as she examines it.

I remained silent as she scan the photo and waited.

“This…” she started.

“I found this in an old bag. I don't know if that bag belongs to me, but when I saw this, I was convinced that it was mine.” her eyes now started to be clouded with gloom.

I stayed still, bracing myself for further revelation, but she stopped and place it back on the table on her side.

She smiles tiredly at me.

“Shall we go?” She later asked, not sparing another glance at the photos.

Could it be that she still remembers nothing and find this useless? But, she could at least start looking from here to gain her memory.'

I pounded.

She turns her back to me and picks up the luggage, while, I was startled at how nonchalant she is towards the photos.

"Don't mind about it, they might have been long gone now."

Her words render me speechless.

She walks ahead without waiting for me.

I was still astounded on the spot and later on decided to take the photos - the newborn baby and the family picture, with me and shove them in my bag.
