I feel a presence next to me and a familiar hand holding mine with such care that it seems it's afraid to break me. The beeping is constant and in my blurred mind I think I fell asleep next to my mother's hospital bed again. But the hand that is softly covering mine is not my mother's. It's a bigger hand. A man's hand. I open my eyes, still confused and I check my surroundings for a second. I am in what it seems like a very fancy hospital room. The bed is huge and the room is decorated to resemble a comfy apartment.  I turn my head so I can see who is holding my hand.  When he sees me open my eyes he smiles, relieved.  "I was worried that I actually exhausted you to death last night."
