Fiona POV Maybe I should have waited for the bus. Originally, I hadn’t wanted to wait for the delayed vehicle, and again, I didn’t want to pay for a taxi. Taxi costs have been so high lately that usually, I would rather walk. Everything was fine when I started walking away from the company. There were plenty of lights and traffic, but the further away I get, the quieter it becomes. I had just wanted to get away from Nolan as fast as I could. A metallic clatter sounds from an alley to my right, making me freeze. I squint again, trying to connect to my wolf vision to see through the pitch-black alley, but I still can’t see anything. I try to switch on my werewolf senses and smell the air, but again, I can’t use my werewolf senses. It’s almost as if I don’t have any heightened senses
