Somewhere above me, the sky is bleeding red. The dawn burns across the horizon like the gods themselves are watching. The convoy still burns. The scent of fuel and flesh mixes with the metallic tang of blood. Wolves are shouting. Some in pain, some in awe. The world shakes, and all I can think is she’s losing control.
