I'm seated beside George on the couch. We're talking and laughing about this one comedy show that he swears no one else has seen but the two of us. Everyone claimed they couldn't get into it, so they're elsewhere minding their own business and enjoying the grand engagement party to the maximum.
Daniel is having a quiet conversation with one of the polished dudes he introduced earlier. He has an arm wrapped around my mom who keeps gazing at him as he listens and nods away.
Daniel glances at her when he feels the intensity of her eyes on him, his lips instantly forming into a tiny smile when their eyes meet.
