My mind could not erase the image of Allie leaning close to Garreth for a kiss. The look of spite on her eyes as those met me first before doing that. I’m sure she’s only doing that to show me that she’s more powerful than me.
I clenched my fists tightly before inhaling a sharp breath. I can’t let her know that she has the upper hand on this. I can’t let her know that she’s the rightful one for him.
Heck, I don’t even know why I’m feeling this way but I am most definitely not backing down. Not to a woman like Allie. Who is she anyway? She’s just his ex. And even if she argues that Garreth doesn’t love me, that still doesn’t change the fact that I am the wife. Even if it’s just on paper, I am still the wife.
I hold every right to my husband. And I should let Allie know about that.
