I was crying incessantly in the car, making it so hard for Garreth to drive. He kept on checking up on me until we were able to finally enter the village. He parked the car and immediately looked at me. He reached for my face and wiped my tears. “Do you want to eat or drink first?” he asked. “You haven’t eaten anything since this morning.” I stared at him with tears still brimming around my eyes. My lips trembled as I stared at him, feeling so apologetic that I have to be caught in this kind of situation. “I’m sorry,” I sobbed and he immediately pulled me into his arms. He kept whispering that it’s okay which only makes me feel even sadder. How can he still tell me that it’s okay when it’s so obvious that it’s not.
