I arrived at the location Jacob had sent me via text and, somehow, I was not at all surprised to see that Benjamin had not only booked himself into a hotel but that it was a grand hotel. I knew the place well, which was an advantage that Jacob didn’t have. Echo Hotel and Spa had been founded just a few years after Skaydal had officially been placed on the map. The owners – a lovely couple, Adam and Crystal Echo – had reached out to my father about a contract. They purchase all of their produce from our farms and businesses. This was not going to be an easy task, despite the familiar connection I had with them.
“You made it,” Jacob said as I climbed out of my car. Zack and Steven were by my side and he nodded at them in greeting.
“Of course,” I muttered. “What’s the situation?”
