Chapter Forty Three – Blackness.
I am trapped in a vortex of black. Sounds surround me, yet nothing makes any sense. I tried to reach out to find a light switch, but my arms didn’t seem to work. Confused, I growl, but the sound does not escape my lips.
Pain, as I have never experienced before, rushes through my body like a tidal wave, and I am screaming in my head, but again, try as I might, I am unable to voice my harrowed cries.
The sound of an alarm clock beeps beside my head, and I attempt to look at it, to focus on the flashing numbers, that I hope will break the blackness that surrounds me. Another mumble reaches my ears. I do not recognise the voice, nothing is clear, but it gives me a sense of comfort before the darkness swallows me again.
