Chapter Fifty-Nine – Elliot
The first shift back at work after some time off is always a challenge, but add to that, the fact you are on the night shift, and it is a right royal pain in the arse. Thankfully, though we are extremely quiet, not that I will say that word out loud. You never do, because no sooner does the word leave your lips than all hell breaks loose. Every. Single. Time.
I am having a lie down in the on-call room, attempting to get some shut-eye whilst I can. But the memories of today at the beach with Sarah-Sofia play on repeat in my mind and call me a prude, but I am not going to relieve the s****l tension they conjure up whilst in the doctor's room, knowing that Eva will sleep in here some nights…. Nope, that thought has the effect of the coldest of cold showers.
