Xavier missed Blake like crazy.
After a week he couldn't believe just how much Blake had come to mean to him and couldn't seem to get out of this funk he was in. Since losing Blake he had lost all good and light in his life. Nothing seemed to matter anymore.
Betty, Xavier's mother, grew more annoying as the days wore on. Her insistent need to spend her welfare checks on booze and heavy handed men was becoming more frequent, and she barely if ever kept the lights, water, or food in the house.
Everything was left up to Xavier and his little cashier job at a bookstore didn't cover multiple bills and rent plus food. He was barely keeping up and when he came home, back and feet aching from standing and re-shelving books, he was greeted with his mother getting rammed by three men.
