The Witch

"Let's call a witch... ", Econ said firmly, surprising and shocking his elder brothers.

"Are you out of your mind? A few days ago you were telling me that we should kill her and now you are saying we should call a witch?", Evan lashed out instantly.

It took a few seconds for Ethan to realise what Evan had just said and he immediately let out a thunderous growl.

"You said what?", he shouted as loudly as he could, looking at the youngest Alpha. But before Econ could say anything, Aurora woke up from her sleep and looked at the brothers.

"Did you all hear...",she stopped mid sentence when she realized something was off. It didn't feel right to her the way Ethan was glaring at Econ.

"What happened? Is anything wrong?", she asked, feeling worried and anxious.

The brothers looked at her and gave her their best comforting smiles.

"Nothing happened Rory, you should go back to sleep", Ethan said, addressing her name, the name she was frequently whispering.

For some reason, hearing the name Rory from Ethan's mouth, it felt comforting to her and she nodded her head. Getting inside her blanket, she closed her eyes and it took a few minutes before she could fall asleep.

The moment Aurora was asleep, Ethan looked back at his youngest brother and raised an eyebrow at him.

"So is anyone gonna tell me why the f**k are we talking about killing our own mate?", he spat back, keeping his voice controlled.

Econ sighed loudly before inhaling a deep breath and decided to explain himself again.

"She is dangerous", he said.

"Dangerous, what do you mean by dangerous?", Ethan questioned back.

"A few days ago, when I was with her here, I was analysing everything we know about her. Then it clicked me that it doesn't matter whether she has a wolf or not because, in both cases, she is a danger to herself and to those who are around her. You saw the way mom's hand turned blue, the pain we all felt, so imagine how much pain mom felt at that time. Now think of all those nurses and guards our so-called mate injured and put them in hospital for days. We don't know anything about her man. How can we just blindly trust her when she can literally kill anyone with a single scratch? I remembered I read something like this in a book and after re-reading it, we found out that there was indeed a wolf that existed like that. A wolf who could kill anyone just by a single scratch", he explained.

It took a few seconds to register what Econ said but Ethan knew that still didn't sound right.

"So your big idea was to kill her, Econ?", he spat back again.

"And you didn't say anything to him or me even after hearing his bullshit", he glared back at Evan.

"Well at that time I didn't have any other answers so I said the first thing that seemed to be right", Econ said..

"Wait.. before you give me another look, I know how idiotic and stupid my solution was. I am very thankful to Evan that he used his brain and shut me off the next moment I said about killing our mate. From that day I have been thinking regarding what we should do to make this work and I think a witch is our best solution ",he continued, looking at his brothers.

Econ was supposed to be the best when it comes to critical thinking and providing a solution, but for some reason, Ethan felt like his younger brother was the biggest dumb alive on this whole planet. The way Econ was talking about killing his mate and asking a witch for help, mate Ethan felt like he should beat the s**t out of Econ so he could finally be back to his normal self.

"And what would that do to us? More misery and pain?", he scoffed.

"Don't tell me you want to hypnotize her?", Evan said with a tint of terror in his voice.

"Nope, not hypnotize, more like make her forget all this by magic. We can just ask a witch to erase her memory completely so our dear mate will be a blank slate of paper. Then we can install new memories in her mind by creating new ones. She is our mate and supposed to be the future Luna of our Pack, a pack full of wolves of whom she is terrified because of something that happened to her. How do you think she will take it after knowing we are wolves too? In my opinion, it's better that she won't remember a thing. That way, she can be with us without fearing us and live her life freely without any terror or pain", Econ said.

The brothers sat back and thought for a while before Ethan spoke up again.

"Then what about her wolf? Even though we can supress her memory, it will be hard to suppress her wolf. How will we deal with that? ", he asked.

"By then we will figure something out. It's not like her wolf is a mindless beast who only thinks about killing everyone. All we have to do is be patient with her and train her properly", Econ said.

"And not to make her angry", Evan said, and the brothers chuckled instantly.

Knowing their parents would never agree to something like this, the boys send them away on a booked honeymoon trip for a week. Since their sister was busy, they figured she wouldn't have that much free time to snoop around. The eldest, Alpha Evan, once rescued the nephew of a witch and, in return, the witch offered him a favor. It had been years but Evan never had to use that favor until now. As per plan, he broke the prism given by the witch and instantly the whole room was covered with black smoke. Once the smoke disappeared, he was astonished to see a projection of the witch who spoke to him. Mentioning his dilemma, the witch agreed to help him and the Alphas were elated to hear this. As per their plan, on the night of the meeting, Ethan drugged Aurora by giving her food mixed with pills. Once she was out cold, the brothers took her to one of the old house of the pack, which was rarely used. The witch was already prepared and waiting for them. Obeying her instructions, they placed their mate in the circle which was made in the middle and sat outside the circle, holding each other's hands.

The room was well lit by candles and the runes were drawn beautifully on each and every corner. Once Aurora was inside the circle, the witch chanted a few words and the candles on the circumference of the circle started to burn too. Closing her eyes, she kept chanting a few spells and told the Alphas not to let go of each other's hand. With each spell, the fire in the room started to increase and the Alphas felt hot being too close to the candles. They didn't question anything and followed every order of the witch. The witch poked each of their fingers and took a few drops of blood from them and then did the same thing to Aurora. Mixing the four blood, she poured it into a glass and again started chanting. The Alphas watched in awe as the piece of glass slowly molded and molded and became a heart-shaped pendant with their combined blood in the middle, acting like a ruby. Once the pendant was formed, she stopped chanting and the fire dropped.

"Now, as I have already stated earlier, altering someone's memory is hard and it often bites you back in the ass. But since you rescued my nephew Alpha, I did it for you. Even though my magic is pretty good, everything still has its own limitations. Tie this pendent to her body and make sure she never removes it. You all have to be careful around her, since the moment her memories return naturally, I won't be there to help you all. With this, now we are fair and square Alpha", she said, and just like that vanished in front of their Alphas.

Ethan immediately carried Aurora, who was still knocked out, and the brothers carried her back to the pack house. Evan went through his mom's jewellery to find a suitable chain for the pendent. Once he had it, he ran back to the room and carefully tied the pendent around Aurora's neck. The brothers exhaled loudly after everything was over and immediately jumped on to their respective couches to get their fair share of sleep.
