The moment I did what had to be done, I felt weird. As relieved as my brain felt after breaking the fake bond, the pain that crossed my heart was sudden and hard, indicating that there had been something real between us. But I had no time to dwell on it. I had a strict plan to accomplish.
I ran past him, leaving him kneeling on the cabin floor. I didn't hear anything he said to me. Everything sounded faint in my ears. But it had to be done to set me free from their clutches and to help me get back my memories and my real life.
