When they both reached school, they hadn’t expected that a bevy of girls in their full make-up, prim and proper short dresses and blonde hair with bangs and in high heels moving behind them as if they were some kind of Hollywood stars. When Petrov looked behind and flashed a smile with dimple one of the girls walking in the front literally swooned and fell down on her companion. Petrov laughed out loud at their antics. Gabriel too hid a smile. It was long that they had enjoyed the company of teenage girls and that too in such a manner. They understood the reason of their behavior. Normally these girls were habituated swooning of teen idols on videos and television and youtube, so when they find handsome boys of different origin they consider them to be like exotic animals whom they can’t attain easily, so this behavior was absolutely hormonal. But for Gabriel hormones had long lost their charm. He knew how to find the true beauty lying behind the outwardly charms of a woman or a girl. Her beauty was in her soul, in her eyes and the way she carried herself.
Gabriel and Petrov went to their class in accord to their routine, and as the previous day Gabriel sat beside the chair which was allocated for Isis and Petrov keeping up his lackadaisical attitude kept sat amongst the blonde beauties at the back attracting hot looks from the guys of the class, but since they both brothers were together, no one had dared do anything to them till now but Gabriel could very well feel their red hot rage for Petrov especially because he had sauntered into their territory and playing with their toys.
But to his dismay, Isis did not arrive to class. Even when the teacher came and started teaching the kid’s version of the American Revolution which if he listened to carefully would have made him guffaw so he tried to keep his attention outside the class where suddenly he got a flash of something in a whirl. There was a vampire in the school.
This came like a red hot flash to his mind immediately. Who was in danger. He glanced behind and looked at Petrov to find if he was missing. But Petrov was looking back at him with alertness in his eyes, which meant that he also had felt the same thing. This means that there were rogues in the school itself and they were probably masquerading as students which made the younger girls even more vulnerable. This is the reason why they could keep a track of the whereabouts of any of their victims. They needed to go to them immediately. They needed to find out where the rogues were hiding and who were they.
But Isis? What happened to her? Why did she not come to school today? Did something bad happen to her? This thought started worming in his brains. Regina had come to know about Isis, did she hurt her in some way? Suddenly at the thought of Isis getting hurt, Gabriel’s ears started burning and he started seeing everything blue which meant that rage was making him recede his normal vision. And his ultraviolet vision was put on. This was not good. And this meant a lot of things but the normalcy in his senses were going awry.
By God’s graces the bell rang and the teacher gave them a project to work upon and left the class. Petrov came closer to him and said,” Let’s take a break Bro,” which meant that like always Petrov had his back and very well knew what was happening to him.
“Brother, you can’t afford to lose your senses or your sanctity amongst kids here, they are just teenagers and more over they are humans. You cannot do this. You need to burn out the rage,” said Petrov.
Gabriel very well knew that whatever Petrov was telling was something true but at this moment his brain was not functioning properly. The apprehension of danger that may have happened with Isis made him lose all his normal senses. They went to the boy’s locker room and Gabriel was on his knees, eyes burning red and his fangs out like a ferocious animal. Petrov took up Gabriel and took him inside one of the toilet stalls and taking the faucet started spraying water on his head in the hopes that his blood velocity will decrease and his ultra-violet vision and rage will recede to normal. Petrov had no idea about how this mate thing worked but whatever it was he needed to find out very soon, because their Crown Prince could not be reported in any kind of vulnerable state. Gabriel let out an animal like shriek and punched through the ply walls which broke down like a house of cards. His knuckles started bleeding but they healed immediately.
A few minutes later a drenched Gabriel came out of the ransacked stall only to find out that a group of boys were standing there were looking at them with curiosity and smirking at him. Gabriel was on the verge of snarling and going to catch their leader but Petrov held him by the scruff of the neck with immense pressure and took him out of the lavatory. He hadn’t wanted to get this seen by other boys but unfortunately that is not to be. Now he knew that due to this destruction of school property there was going to be a parents’ call and he didn’t want people seeing Regina on outside. Because that woman wouldn’t be able to control her hunger when she finds so much of pulse all around here.
“We need to look after the Headmaster once, will that be fine with you Petrov?” asked Gabriel.
“Actually Brother I was thinking along the same lines. Because it wouldn’t be good if this news of destruction goes out,” confirmed Petrov.
“It would be better if I do it at the moment because right now all my powers are hyped up and the effect would be much more prolonged if I did that. Or do you think that the peaceful effect would be much more better?”asked Gabriel knowing that Petrov would always agree with him.
“No Brother I think that it would be better if you did the job because I might excel at psychology but you excel in control,” replied Petrov.
“Okay then. Let’s do the deed,” said Gabriel
Both brothers walked down the corridor down to the Headmaster’s office and went inside after knocking. The short man was sitting there and was surprised looking at the two Russian brothers. Because he had just received a call from his janitor that there had been a fight in the boy’s bathroom and one of the stalls was completely broken down, the floor flooded with water. And in all probability the new students were involved because the one named Gabriel was drenched and his clothes were wet.
“Yes boys, do you have something to confess? Or something to complain?” asked the Headmaster.
“Actually Sir, neither,” said Petrov. He had locked the door on his way inside the room in order to avoid any odd incidents further.
Gabriel was already primed for hypnotizing his victim and to clear his mind off the recent incidents and drop down some more incidents as food for thoughts which would grow and save them from any further ramifications. The moment the Headmaster looked at him his eyes started glowing red and his ultraviolet vision was on once more and he could see what the man was thinking and what had happened just before they had arrived. He erased off those memories and input a few new ones like the stall walls were cracked from beforehand and the boys were laughing and on bumping at the wall the wall broke down like that and any of the kids could have been hurt that instance. Finishing the task Gabriel’s eyes dimmed considerably from the intensity with which they were burning and the man’s eyes were blank and his head slumped on the head for a few moments. Then he blinked his eyes for sometimes and looked up at them again and said in a booming voice, ”Boys, you have done a marvelous job in pushing the kids away to safety. And now coming and reporting it to me, how can I even thank you for this bravery..”
“Sir there is no need to embarrass us in such a way. We did what the moment required of us,” answered Petrov very diplomatically. His brother was a real gem thought Gabriel. But right now they needed to leave the room and find that rogue vampire out before he could hurt another poor girl.
“We shall take your leave Sir. But such things are very dangerous for the safety of the kids. Please take care of it as soon as possible. Sir I had a request to make,” said Gabriel
“Anything for you my boy. Tell me, what do you need,” said the Headmaster still under the effect of compulsion.
“Sir we need to get acquainted with the structure of the school, today morning itself Petrov had lost his way. So that these things do not happen again, will it be possible to get a permission regarding the same?” asked Gabriel putting on his compulsion again.
“This isn’t something you need to ask Gabriel. You are the students of this school, do whatever you need to know the school better but make sure you don’t loiter around during the class timings,” said the Headmaster with a twinkle in his eye.
“No Sir, we would not even think of doing so,” said Petrov very well knowing the reason for which Gabriel had asked this permission. He and Gabriel had both sensed another vampire in the school and finding him out was even more necessary than before.
With a nod from the mind-washed man behind the desk, they both left the room to search every nook and corner of the school because somewhere inside the school something fishy was going on and since this was a school no one had bothered to look inside the school because no one had thought in their wildest imaginations that the perpetrators of this crime were someone of the age group of high school students. Maybe not in real age but at least by their looks. It was the hard truth that looks can be deceiving and here sure was a case likely of it.
“I think Brother it is time to acknowledge the fact that you have found your mate and staying away from her or any idea about her being in danger makes you so much antsy that you can’t control your rage, and you know we have a mission on our hands which we cannot fail,” said Petrov going up the stairs beside Gabriel.
“I had planned to woo her, to court her like a proper man but for that to happen I need to see her, the moment I don’t see her there is only one thought pre-dominant on my mind that someone has hurt or Regina has tricked her in some way, but this can’t keep on going on like this. I need to find her soon, it feels like that my heart will burst someway,” said Gabriel.
“And it was you who had said a year earlier that the cold had frosted your heart and now ice of the Arctic glaciers ran in your veins and nothing could ever warm that up,” Petrov was smirking re-iterating Gabriel’s words from a year ago when their father had made him watch prospective brides for an arranged marriage.
“Actually Grandma had said that day itself that I was the odd one of the batch and I would get a mate which is not a common thing amongst us and it is probably so rare that it skips a few generation when it almost a time for Revolution,” remembered Gabriel.
“The Revolution is overthrowing the Council and going back to the patriarchial form of kingship,” said Petrov.
Gabriel looked at Petrov with shock etched in his face, it was not everyday that you got to hear things like that.
