“I know a place—trust me,” I replied as I jerked the steering, guiding the truck down a path with branches of trees scraping the sides.
"Can't you just tell me?" she urged.
“We're already here." It was dark but the headlights brought the cabin into view— our old college hideout. I killed the engine, the silence enveloping us.
