Chapter 7 – Mall Activities
My heart hadn’t stopped racing since I agreed to live under the same roof as Jacob. The next day, Rachel stopped me before I left.
“Andrea, I was thinking, why don’t you and Jacob hit the mall today? Pick up some stuff for your room before you move in tomorrow.”
I froze. “Oh, uh, I can manage alone.”
“No way,” she said. “Jacob’s free, and you’ll need help with the heavy stuff. Right, Jacob?”
He appeared behind her, his eyes locking on mine.
“Happy to help,” he replied, his voice smooth. “Let’s make sure you’re all set.”
I nodded, my stomach twisting. “Sure. Thanks.”
