Great…now I have to plan a trip.
I don’t why I said that. The words slipped right out of my mouth when I saw her look pale and vulnerable. I told Stanley I was going to give Rose a present because I wanted to calm him down. Show him how much I care about her so he doesn’t think I’m just playing around.
Rose looks surprised at my sudden offer. “You don’t have to do that,” she says, her voice soft.
“I want to,” I reply firmly. “You’ve been working hard, and you deserve a break. Let me take you somewhere nice for a few days.”
Rose looks down at her hands before meeting my gaze. “Okay,” she says quietly, a small smile forming on her lips.
I smile back. Maybe this trip will be a chance for us to get to know each other better and see where things go between us.
