"Go get him!" I yelled at Aurelia as we materialized on the porch of the Silver Sea pack house. "GO GET MY MATE!"
"There's no time!" she screamed. She was crying and sobbing as well - but I didn't care. It wasn't she the one who'd just lost the love of her life, dammit! “Kate, we can't - a spell like this would kill him, as wounded as he is. We have to bring the others to safety… that's what he asked for, what he wanted us to do”.
"We have to do something ... anything ... Aurelia ..." I panted, as it became increasingly difficult to breathe. "We have to help him ..."
She gave me a pained look before holding me tight. "I'm so sorry, Kate" she whispered, and I burst into tears in her arms.
