Albert   Her blood tests came back mostly normal, so other than being exhausted and a bit dehydrated, she was fine. We walked to Diane's room, and as soon as we entered, Mia’s eyes lit up with a mixture of relief and concern. Diane was resting peacefully, her condition was still stable, but I knew that the sight of her mother in a better state after everything that had happened gave Mia some comfort. I guided Mia to a nearby seat. We shared a quiet moment, the weight of the situation pressing down on us. I sat beside her, my hand resting gently over hers. Her fingers were still a bit cold, and I squeezed them softly, offering her what comfort I could. “I’m sorry for everything that happened,” I said quietly, my voice barely above a whisper. “You shouldn’t have had to go through that.”
