Epilogue
Six Months Later
“Daddy’s home!” I announced as I entered our quarters. I heard a squeal and a crash, then my daughter crawled toward me at lightning speed, her brother hot on her heels. I dropped to the floor so they could both climb all over me, kissing and hugging them as I could reach. Coming home to them was the very best part of my day.
I was continually amazed at how much faster they developed than Terran babies. Though according to Sol, it wasn’t quite as fast as Ssarften children. That was to be expected, I supposed, as my kids were a perfect blend of both races. Hell, they were perfect, full stop.
