I sighed and rested my back on the leather seat of my car.
The faint echo of Vera’s voice reverberated around me as I sat and stared through my windows at the faint shimmer of the afternoon sunlight.
It took a couple of minutes after she had asked before I was able to explain to her all that had happened.
She was beyond shocked when I informed her about the camera I had found, and when I asked her if she knew who the man could be. She answered no.
A couple of minutes later, and I was genuinely tired.
“Have you thought about my offer, dear?” Vera voice echoed through the line in a soft tone, “You should come stay at the estate. It’s definitely far safer, and I am sure we will be able to make sure that something like that never happens again.”
