I felt horrible about what I had just done to my mother and I couldn’t help feeling like I had disappointed my father. I found myself in an unfortunate position where I had to choose between my mate and my mother once again. Unfortunately, I couldn’t pick my mother over Laila because of all the things that she had done in the past and also because Laila was my queen. Picking anyone over her, even my own mother would be the worst betrayal that I could ever deal with.
I wondered if my father understood the decision I had made today because I wanted Laila to feel like she had received some kind of justice because of everything that my mother had done to her.
