I was now officially a married man, as a wolf, this didn’t mean much to me because I didn’t need some priest to agree with me when I said Laila was my mate. However I understood that this was an important part of mating in humans and since I had decided to live this life, I had to accept it.
Theo had me that this was supposed to be a big deal for humans and if it was a big deal to Laila it had to be a big deal to me. The mark that Laila had on her neck was a sign of my commitment to her. I suggested that we got married because I knew that would mean a lot to her and I didn’t want to rob her of that experience as a human, especially because the chances of us performing the mating ritual were slim.
