The journey to the pack was a silent one, all of us were consumed by our own thoughts. I was wondering how things were going to be when we got home and I was nervous to introduce Laila to my parents. I was worried about what my mother would say to her and what her reaction to what my mother said would be. I didn’t want her to let my mother scare her away. I didn’t want her to think that all this was too much for her to handle.
I could only imagine what she was thinking about, she had already entertained thoughts of not coming with me and I was afraid that she was still entertaining such thoughts. I was afraid that she was still considering me to be her biggest mistake. I already knew what Theo was thinking about in his silence, he was probably thinking that this was a bad idea
