DYLAN’S POV
When I woke up I realized Laila wasn’t home, I asked Theo if he had seen her and he told me that she had left early and he didn’t know where she went. I figured she went to see her father after calling her countless times. I remembered how unsatisfied she had been by the response her father had given her.
I think what made it worse for her was the fact that the box that her father had been holding on to for years had nothing inside. It only had the pictures that she was now holding onto. I decided to wait for her so that she could tell me where she had been and if she had been with her father I wanted to know how that meeting went.
Laila returned home later in the afternoon and although she tried to act like nothing was wrong, I could see that something was stressing her out
