“What? W-what do you m-mean?” as I looked at her, she became tense. She can't look me straight in the eyes. 

“Is she pretending to be pregnant?”

“Aaaaaah!!!!!” then suddenly, I heard a loud scream coming from the office of Makaria…

*Crash*

And then next is a loud noise that seems like something has been shattered on the floor. Eva and I were both surprised by that so we immediately opened the door.

“Ma’am Antoinette? Oh my gosh! What happened?!” Eve asked while I was frozen beside the door. I was shocked. What is going on here? Everything is a mess. A lot of things are scattered on the floor as her huge windows are all open, the strong wind is casting in. It is quite cold here.

I looked at Makaria, and what I saw made my heart start to pound so fast as my eyes widen up. She is sitting on the floor while there is a lot of blood all over her thighs down to her legs. Because of that, I immediately ran towards her and kneel down to reach her. Damn it, what happened here?!

“Are you alright?” then I touched her shoulder. She looked at me, sobbing. WHAT THE HECK, IT IS MY FIRST TIME SEEING HER LIKE THAT! MOST OF THE TIME SHE IS RUDE AND MAD AND EVERYTHING BUT... NOW?

“Don’t leave me!” those are the first words that she utter before she hugged me so tight as if she doesn’t want me to let her go. “You told me that I’ll be safe with you… you told me that you want to protect me, then, protect me!”

I can feel that she is frightened based on the tone of her voice. It is my first time seeing her like this. What is she afraid of?

“Mr. Salvador, bring her to the hospital!” Eve said in panic seeing such traumatizing look of Makaria. I know she is confused, even me, I am more confused. I went here to clean what they say coffee mess in the room but what happened here is more severe. It looks like a tornado came into this office!

“No… no… I am okay with the clinic in my company, no need to rush me to the hospital, it is...far”  she seems weak, she is gasping for air, and her voice is getting very soft I can’t almost hear her clearly… until… I felt her heavy body lean onto me as her head fell on my shoulders. Damn it.

“M-makaria? Makaria?” I tried to shake her, but she is not responding. I move her to see her face and when I finally did, she is already unconscious! I became so worried about what happened to her that is why I quickly carry her and ran going to the clinic. Eve immediately followed.

We made another scene again, wherein a lot of employees seem to be shocked seeing their CEO covered in blood now. The last time they just saw her unconscious but now, she is bloody!

“What happened, Thanatos? Why does our CEO become like that?!” then I met Sir Alex who looks so furious right now. He doesn’t know what is going on and he is curious to know the details… but I can’t give him some because I don’t have any.

“I… don’t know sir. We just saw her inside the office like this. We don’t know what happened and we’ll try to ask her when she woke up” I said as I continue to run towards the hallway near the clinic.

“Okay, update me,” he said before he stopped following us. 

As I reached the clinic, I immediately opened the door leaving the doctor inside in shock. She never expected us to come.

“Treat her, please,” I said before I lay Makaria to the clinic bed. She is still unconscious. I never thought that this would happen to her. She is wearing all red like she is used to but the additional touches of blood are not pleasant to see. She looks like she came from an accident.

“What happened?”

“We don’t know, we just saw Ma’am Antoinette on the floor like that. Please Doc, please make sure that she is okay” Eve worriedly said as she touches both hands of the doctor before she took me to go outside the clinic.

I didn’t utter any more words. I just followed her outside. As the door closed, my heart can’t stop itself from pounding so loud and fast. I am so nervous right now. I don’t know what to think anymore.

What should I believe now? Is this all part of an act also? Her being so frightened of something… is that an act? She is pulling it all of! She is a great actress then. With all of those blood and fainting scene… if she is pretending, she is really excellent in doing so.

“Mr. Salvador are you alright?” then with one tap of Eve, I came back to reality. I immediately looked at her and smiled.

“Yes, Eve. Of course, I am,”

“Are you sure? Because you seem a bit---”

“I am sure. Don’t worry.” I didn’t even let her finish what she is going to say. I just answered her right away.

“Your baby will be okay. Ma’am Antoinette is a strong woman, she can handle this”

Baby…

Do we really have a baby? I am now questioning everything even if it all looks so real right now. I am confused about who is really telling the truth. Whom I should be trusting? Should I also be trusting Eve’s words?

Or…

I can’t trust anyone?

“Yeah…*nod* You may be right. By the way, I’ll just go outside to find some fresh air” I just said without looking at her.

“O-okay. I’ll call you if there is an update about Ma’am Antoinette” by the tone of her voice, she seemed to be a bit surprised with my response. But I don’t care what she thinks, it doesn’t matter to me anymore. 

“Sure” I shortly said before I completely left her alone there in the hallway/, outside the clinic. I quickly walk towards the main door to go out. I even noticed some of the employees staring at me… maybe because of some stains of blood in my shirt but I just ignored them. I continue to walk and pass by them.

“Thanatos!”

But… when I am just a few steps away from the door, a familiar voice called me. Oh no, when I am hearing a word from him the next thing is already trouble.

So I slowly turn around to face him… crap

“Sephtis…” this is not good.

“Oops, I made myself invisible again to human eyes!”

I was surprised when he said that. So I look like crazy again.

“What?!” Oh damn! I said it out loud! I looked around and some of the people here are staring at me.

“Sorry! Don’t talk to me right now. Let’s go somewhere private, I will follow you” he immediately went behind me showing that he’ll follow me wherever I go. 

“Crap” I just start to walk, looking around to see if they are looking at me peculiarly as if I am weird or something. Some of them look, but most of them ignored me. That is great. I just walk faster towards the fire exit door. I made sure that no one is looking before I opened it and went inside.

Great, there are no employees here as expected.

“Now, what is going on? Why are you here? Did something happen?” I quickly asked as I face him with confusion.

“Well, what is going on with you too? Why do you have bloodstains?” he pointed to my shirt but I just shove it.

“I’ll tell you later. I asked you first. Why are you here?”

“Well… yeah, you know… if I can’t handle things by myself I always ask for help hehe” with that awkward laugh? It seems like he made huge trouble again. Damn it! I am just a human now so why is this all happening to me?!

“So what happened?”

“There is a vengeance soul… who went here. His name is Benedict Castro. He was an employee here.”

My eyes automatically widened up when he said that.

“Benedict? I don’t hear his name here, I am not familiar. Are you sure he is an employee here?”

“YES! ONE HUNDRED PERCENT SURE! He was a janitor here,”

WHAT?

“Janitor? There are only five janitors here including me. I never know that guy” Nor see. I know this company is very huge but for all the times that I work here? I am familiar with the faces and names of the employees here.

“Well, maybe because you are the one who replaced him with the position? Your CEO fire him several months from now for just a simple reason, he accidentally spilled a tea on her.”

“What?”

This is all new discovery to me. I didn’t know that.

“Yes. He died a few weeks now because of tuberculosis. He was not treated by the doctors because he doesn’t have any money, he has no work. And lately, he escaped from my watch. About a couple of days now. My hunch? He’s here looking for revenge”

That is tragic… and all of it leads to one person…

“He’s here for Makaria…” 

And with that… I have realized something. What happened to Makaria just a few minutes ago, is it because of that ghost? How can he be able to do that? Where did he garner such power for just a couple of days?
