“Makaria?! Why are you here?” I asked with obvious confusion on my face. She just looked at me with her both eyebrows raising.
“Excuse me? I think I should be the one to ask you that. You are inside my company. Are you stalking me again?” Damn. I am not a stalker or whatever is she calling me. of all the places I never expected that I will meet her here. I tried to walk away. But why does it seem like fate is always bringing us back together?
To be honest, my heart is starting to race again. It is pounding so fast as I look into her face. That is why I am trying to look down, or away from her.
“What? No! I don’t even know that y-you work here”
“Work here? I am not just working here, I said you are inside MY company. I OWN THIS COMPANY, you i***t!” I am shocked when she started to point her fingers at me pushing my shoulder. Why is she like this? She is mean. Based on my memories with Mara, Mara can’t even do this. What happened?
“Oh so you are the boss that they are talking about” I whispered, but Dianna slapped my legs right away. So I immediately turned my attention to her.
“Thanatos! Shhh… don’t say anything! You should kneel right now because she might fire you right away. Show some respect”
“Why should I kneel, Dianna? Is she a God?” I innocently asked. Because as far as I know, kneeling is for God only. You are not obliged to kneel in front of people because all of us are equal no matter how rich or poor you might be.
“So you work here? I assume you are new here that is why you act like that. Or… you really like me and you’re stalking me… then you act like that for me to notice you” Makaria started to move close to me. So I started to walk backward.
“W-who said that... I like you?” My goodness, why did I stutter?!
“Your eyes?” I am surprised when she touched my chin to lift my head a little. She wanted me to look at her!!! So I had a glimpse of her but not too long because I shrug her hands in me immediately. I looked down again for me not to see her face.
Damn, my heart is still beating so fast!
“Y-you are wrong. The eyes cannot say anything because it is not a mouth. The mouth is the part that can say things”
“What?! *laugh* I don’t know if you are pretending to be stupid or you really are stupid”
I cannot understand why she is laughing. As far as I know, I am not joking around here.
“Why? What I said is correct. I am not stupid.”
“*laugh* Are you serious? Then what are you? Don’t tell me that ‘I am not stupid because I am Thanatos’ thing”
What does it mean? All I know is that she is wrong and I am telling her the right things.
“I am not stupid, I am smart. As simple as that, Mara”
“Don’t you dare call me that! We are not close”
I am surprised when she suddenly grabbed my collar and she pulled me close harshly. I think I pissed her off. Well, I am pissed too… a little… because I am not stupid!
“Don’t also call me stupid, because you don’t know me” I strongly responded. She is acting so mean here. I don’t care if she is what they call CEO or something like that. She has no right to be like that toward us.
“Thanatos! Just stop! I told you to shut up. I am s-sorry ma’am. This won’t happen again. I will t-talk to him” Then Dianna stood up from kneeling and tried to detach Makaria’s hands from my collar. Makaria just lose her grip but still looking at me with anger in her eyes.
“You should be. I will let you out this moment but the next time that I see you, you are out”
“Y-yes ma’am. I am really sorry for this. Thanatos! Let’s go” Dianna pulled me immediately. That is the time that I saw the crowd. Most of the employees now are looking at us. As if we are some kind of actors on television. I just smiled at them. I should look good at least. I am new here and I have caught their attention already.
---Makaria’s POV---
What the heck is that guy doing here?! He gives me creeps. I don’t understand if he is obsessed with me or what. He even followed me here at my company! What is wrong with him? He always acts strange, dumb, and annoying all in one. I don’t care if he is handsome and everything, he seems like crazy. Crazy over me.
“Ma’am, should I call the police?”
“What? NO” I said as I put my red bag on my table and sat down on my swivel chair in my office.
“But I thought… he is your stalker”
“Yeah, but I have to make sure. Can you give me research about that guy and why is he here”
“Uhm… Alex told me that he is the newly hired janitor”
Janitor? So he is just a janitor in my company but he is acting like we are on the same level.
“So he is working here now?”
“Yes. Should I fire him?”
“No… absolutely not. I have new plans” New better plans for him. He made a mistake in choosing to work here. I will make sure that he will ENJOY staying here… I mean… my kind of ENJOYMENT.
“Plans?”
“It is none of your business, Eve. You are just my secretary”
“I am sorry, Ma’am. So what do you want me to do then?”
“Give me the resume of that bastard”
“Noted, ma’am”
“I will give you five minutes to do that” when I said that, she immediately ran to the door of my office. She should be. I don’t want a slow process here.
“Yes! Ma’am. I got to go” after that, she left. Good. That is why I hired her as my secretary, she is very obedient.
