Evelyn's POV I barely had the strength to stand as I exited the operating room. After a night and day of intense surgery, we'd finally managed to pull our patient back from death's edge. The Lunar Strain Y treatment was working, but not without complications. Anya rushed to support me as I swayed slightly on my feet. I could sense she wanted to say something but kept hesitating. Only after I'd showered and changed did she follow me to the cafeteria, still stealing nervous glances my way. My stomach felt hollow after going so long without food.
