Evelyn's POV
"Miss Blackwell," Emma hurried over, looking worried.
She whispered, "It's Lynn. Her condition is getting worse."
My heart sank. Lynn,the girl who tried to kill herself after Keith's betrayal. The one patient I promised to save.
"Think about what I said," I told Calvin. "I'll wait for your answer."
He leaned against the wall, eyes down, his long lashes casting shadows on his face. He seemed lost in thought. I wanted to say more, but there was no time.
"I have to go," I said, following Emma down the hall.
When we reached Lynn's room, her vitals were plummeting on the monitor. Her body had given up fighting, and she was slipping away.
