“What is it Lila? What do you need to tell me that can’t wait until the morning?” I frowned and she rolled her eyes like she always did when she thought that I was being dramatic.
“I’m leaving, Bea.” She told me and it was as if time stood still. I stared at her and my mouth fell open. “Lila, what do you mean you’re leaving?” I shook my head in disbelief. There was no way that she was being serious.
“I am leaving but you can’t tell my brother. He can’t know. Promise me?” She grabbed my wrist and pleaded with me.
