Everett “Thank you for dinner,” Aubrey smiles as we head through to the living room with a glass of wine. “You are welcome. I am glad you came. I honestly believed you would have changed your mind." She raises her brow at me. “Like I had a choice. If I didn’t, you would have shown up at my place." I could deny it, but what would be the point? We know it is the truth. I smirk and nod. She responds to me with an eye roll. I chuckle, shaking my head. I guide her towards the sofa, letting her sit first before I join her. I sit as close as possible, making her nervous. I always have fun making her nervous. “Could you get any closer? What is the need for it?” she asks. I take her glass from her and set it down on the coffee table. I do the same with mine. Aubrey looks at me, confused.
