Abbey’s POV My mouth runs dry as I watch the man sitting up front next to his driver who steers the vehicle along the empty lane, his lights now on, cutting through the darkness, showing the road ahead. ‘So Abbey’ the stranger states warmly, drawing my attention back to him, ‘do you mind if I call you Abbey?’ I shake my head, what else can I do? Say no strange man who just abducted me and my daughter! You can’t use my given name. The man nods, his smile widening, that tooth glinting at me again, giving his already sinister face a lethal edge. ‘Well Abbey, let me introduce myself, I am Demitri and your husband Paul is an associate of mine.’ I squash down the shiver of revulsion at his words, the accusations of the police just hours ago still ringing in my ears.
