"Daughter…?"
Lucas and Sophia both froze.
"You mean… I was pregnant with twins three years ago? One boy… he died… but a daughter—she's still alive?"
Sophia stepped out from behind Lucas, staring at James in shock. But she clearly remembered—her ultrasound had only shown one baby.
"Of course not! Sophia, your baby girl never died! Lucas tried to get rid of her, and I was the one who saved her." James's eyes burned as he stared at her. "I even killed two people for you, Sophia. Just leave Lucas. Come with me. I'll treat you right. I'll bring your daughter back."
But Sophia took a step back, fear flashing in her eyes.
She'd already started feeling uneasy around James earlier, but this... now he felt like a complete stranger.
