I had promised myself I would come up with a plan in the morning, but I couldn’t stop my brain from going over Ronan’s words again and again. I couldn’t understand it — he seemed so sincere in his desire to take care of me and my baby.
It was hard to believe that he had done it all to strengthen his claim on the Alpha title, but at the same time, I understood. This was the Ronan I knew well: the cutthroat businessman who would do anything to get what he wanted.
In a way, it all made sense. Of course, Ronan would do and say anything to secure his position as Alpha. If that meant sweeping me along with him and using me and the pup as leverage, well, so be it.
