Chapter 38

I leave the house at midday. I'm meeting my mom for lunch. I felt a little bit homesick, so I wanted a familiar face to talk to. Plus, I haven't seen her in a while so I terribly miss her. I drive to the small restaurant where we always went to have margaritas and have a good laugh. I sit at the balcony because there's plenty of fresh air there, and the view is a little less nauseating. I'm taking water in small sips when I feel a hand on my shoulder. I turn around, and I feel warm all over when I find my Mom smiling down at me. Even after all these years, I still feel like a kid every time I'm around my mother. "Mom."
