I knock on the door and when the doctor looks up, I step through. She smiles at me grimly, then turns her attention back to Hannah's wound. Hannah is strapped to the bed, her head turned to the side, her eyes closed. I don't think she's unconscious. Her lips are curled in a snarl, and her chest is rapidly rising and falling. "Keep your distance," Sheela warns me. I look at Hannah curiously, then gasp as I see why the doctor has warned me to stay back. Ignoring her advice, I take a step closer. Kingston, who I hadn't seen earlier, puts a hand out to stop me. "How is this possible?" I ask, my eyes on Hannah's wound. "Is she... is she healing on her own?" Sheela nods, lifting her gaze to meet mine for a moment. Then she sets back to work. She's stitching the wound in Hannah's abdomen,
