Chapter 16 Birk didn’t answer Michi’s taunts about the war having come to him. His eyes were glued to the receiver as he watched the enormous ship that squatted on the ground beside the wreck of the Thundercloud. Even as he and Michi looked on, a hatch opened in the side of the craft and a boarding ramp was lowered. A dozen or so alien figures trooped down the ramp and began examining the wreckage of the human ship. As though reading Birk’s mind, Arthur sent some of the spy-bees in for a closer look at what was happening.
