The drive wasn't that long, but Cara was sleeping by the time we arrived at the hotel. I understood, it was a lot to take in. She seemed happy to know about Caroline, but finding out that her whole life had been a lie couldn't be easy.
"I'm really grateful for everything you have done for her," Caroline told me once the car was parked. "You have no idea what this means to me."
"Well, it was the least I could do. You are part of my Pack now, and you will be an important part of it."
"Still, we thank you for this," Xander said. "I'll go check us in, and then I will help you with her."
"If it's okay, I want to stay with her. We have been together for a couple of days now, and I think she will be more comfortable with me."
