Then a thought clicked.
"Since when do we argue?" I mumbled, feeling ashamed that we had gotten to this point.
She opened her eyes, and a single tear slid down her cheek. Her eyes glistened, and
I could see the icy blue from beneath her brown contact lens.
"I'm worried, I'm stressed, I'm frustrated, and I'm tired, but I can't sleep," she whimpered, almost as if it hurt her.
It pained me to see her like this.
I sat beside her on the bed and pulled her onto my lap, hugging her.
