After spending the better part of the morning helping to fight the fires, I was exhausted. All I wanted when I got home was a shower and a long nap snuggled up to my sweet mate.
As Ana and I climbed the stairs, I got a mind link from Cody. As gamma, he was head of security, so he was taking the helm of the investigation into the fires.
'Alpha, I just got word that the fire scene investigators have found evidence that the fires were deliberately set. There's a strong smell of gasoline near both points of origin, and whoever did it dropped an empty matchbook that somehow didn't burn. They want to talk to you. Do you want to do that now, or have them set an appointment for later?'
