“Why are you meddling, huh?” I slurred, my words heavy and uneven from the alcohol. My eyelids felt like weights, and I could barely see him clearly. But even in the blur of lights and haze of liquor, I knew. The scent clinging to me, grounding me, could only belong to one person.
