The thundering music hit me the moment I stepped inside the club. Normally, scenes like this would spark a rush of excitement in me. Every time I set foot in a place like this, all I wanted to do was party.
“OMG, Kat? Is that you?!”
A familiar face suddenly appeared in front of me, eyes wide with shock. When I looked closely, I realized she was a friend of a friend—someone I’d met once before.
“Hello,” I said politely, though her name completely slipped my mind.
“How are you? It’s been ages since I last saw you in a place like this!” She gave my arm a playful slap as if we were close. “I guess that’s what married life does, huh? Not much time for nights out anymore!” she laughed.
