“Hello,” I greeted cheerfully. “I was only looking around, trying to explore my environment.” I explained, staring around the room.
It was lit with a muted purple glow, the steady drill of the machines vibrating through the air. My nose flared as the heavy scents of metal, dust, and an unfamiliar scent tangled together, my nose unable to pick them out.
The shop itself was painted a white shade that had begun to peel, and it was divided neatly into compartments. To the right, finished amethyst pieces glittered behind a transparent display.
“Of course, you are welcome to look around,” the woman said, her smile a little too eager. “This way, please.”
I eyed the inner room skeptically, but curiosity nudged me forward.
