I pushed myself off the floor, my knees trembling under my weight, but I managed to drag myself to the bathroom, letting the tap run before splashing water on my face. I shut my eyes tight, refusing to look at the mirror. I was not ready to see how shattered or broken I was. Instead, I washed my face thoroughly and padded back to the room.
