The tears gushed out as everything rushed to the surface, and all the days I had spent feeling strong came crumbling down here.
I sobbed silently, my cries filling the room. Then my sobs reduced to sniffles, and I was finally calm enough to notice the man beside me.
He remained exactly as he was, eyes closed, and I couldn’t tell if he was asleep or simply choosing not to acknowledge me. And none of the options settled well with me.
He had made no move to do anything, not comfort nor kind words, and my heart was breaking all over again.
I angled myself so I could see him clearly, but the tears had made my vision blurred, and I blinked twice until I could see better.
How could he be so nonchalant towards me? He had watched me and listened to me break down beside him and did nothing.
